[This is Jayne waking up in the morning. He yawns and stretches, sitting up in his bunk with a bit of ease. He hasn't quite gotten up yet, but he's gonna. Just give him a few minutes.]
[It's when Jayne moves to leave the bathroom that Daryl is in trouble. Suddenly, a shadow envelops him, and the tiny man looks up to see Jayne's massive foot descend. It lands with an almighty crash...
With Daryl between the big toe and it's neighbour. He's then lifted up when the big guy takes another step, clinging on.]
[He's got something in his foot? That's strange, 'cause Jayne isn't feeling it. He just keeps walking across to his bed and plops down, grabbing his boots with a pair of socks tucked inside. He should really invest in another pair. He starts putting his socks on. First is the Daryl-less foot. He has a little time to escape.]
[First sock is on. And second sock goes on soon after. Jayne reaches over for a boot and grabs it. It's the one Daryl's in. He undoes the laces and starts to pull it on. Hope you're out of there.]
[Daryl hasn't had a chance! The light gets shut out and the boot shakes as the giant moves to pull it on, the tiny redneck running for the toe section as to not get smushed into the insole.]
[Lucky for Daryl, the shoe doesn't exactly fit. Well, it's not like Jayne can afford proper footwear. Bad news for Daryl, Jayne has to tie the boots up pretty tightly. It'll take him a while to get out, unless he's crafty.
And now Jayne's putting on his other boot, unaware of Daryl trapped inside the first one.]
[Once the second boot is on, Jayne stands up and starts walking. His footsteps aren't light, but his feet stay pretty secure in the boots. No moving around or getting closer to Daryl. That's the only saving grace there.
He moves into the kitchen and grumbles as he searches the fridge for food. He finds some left overs and munches on them as he meanders through his house, looking for something to do. If he can't find anything, which is possible, he's going to head out and look for familiar faces. It's better than just sitting around bored at his place waiting for others to show up.
And maybe he could go drinking. That seemed like a good idea.]
[Daryl has his knife drawn and runs over to start hacking at the thick sock to try and get Jayne's attention. Of course, with every earth-shaking step, Daryl's thrown off his feet and has to make another attempt.]
[And Jayne keeps walking. He feels a small tugging on his sock, but he thinks it's just the inside of his boot. Nothing to worry about. Maybe it's snagged on something. He might get a hole in his sock, but it'll free itself eventually.
Jayne goes through the whole house before finishing his breakfast. Then he grabs his device thing and walks out the front door to the market. Why not.]
[In that couple of hours, Jayne sees no one familiar. He thinks about just turning around and going back. Maybe he can get a bottle of liquor and drink by himself. Why not? Oh, maybe he can work out too. No reason to, but it's better than nothing. Got to be prepared for anything.
Then something cut his toe.]
The hell?
[Jayne sits on a bench and takes his boot off, shaking it out onto the ground. He doesn't see anything fall out at first. He goes to look into the boot when he sees a familiar voice. He looks up and starts a conversation, boot in hand.]
[And Daryl just climbs out of the boot and drops into Jayne's lap. He uses the respite to run up and climb atop his belt. The poor little guy is tired and sweaty; a mix of his own and Jayne's, but he gets himself secure on the giant's belt...]
[The conversation continues as normal until the conversation partner says something about a bug being on Jayne. He looks around and doesn't see anything. Then he starts patting his clothes and swiping his hand along the fabric, trying to brush the thing away.]
[Daryl ducks out of sight to avoid the giant's hand as it sweeps past. The last thing he needed was to be swept off outside. Jayne was sorta his only chance to get noticed.]
[The person says they can't see it anymore. Awesome. Bug problems are over. The conversation lasts a few minutes longer before the person walks away. Jayne puts on his boot again and makes his way back home. On the way, he ducks into a liquor store and buys a bottle of whiskey.]
[Jayne makes it back to his place without incident. He sets the whiskey aside and goes to a small work out room. He works out for the next couple of hours before making it back to the kitchen to down some of that whiskey while searching for food again. Maybe he should have bought some while he was out.]
[Daryl, meanwhile, was pretty safe where he was. He's just waiting it out until the big lug stops moving so he can climb up and grab his attention. Shouldn't be too hard to get to his face...]
[Jayne searches the refrigerator and finally decides on something, munching on it while going back to the bottle of whiskey. Forget a cup, he'll just drink out of the bottle. It's not like he has to share with anyone.
He leans against the counter, eating and drinking. Once the food is gone, he belches loudly. He doesn't move from his spot there. He just leans there, thinking to himself and drinking.]
[Daryl snags a few crumbs as they fall, having not eaten in a while, ignoring the tremendous wall of sound that is Jayne belching. If he was any other guy, the sight of Jayne at this size would have been intimidating...
But this was Daryl, so he takes some of the time Jayne is finally semi-still to start climbing his shirt.]
[Jayne feels something move up his shirt, but thinks it only a bug. He doesn't look. Just swipes at his chest, assuming the little thing is going to fly off while he takes another swig of whiskey.
Once that's done, Jayne walks, whiskey in hand, to his bedroom.]
[Jayne's hand misses Daryl by an inch, and the little guy clings to the fabric, especially once Jayne starts moving. All he can do is hang on as the giant walks.]
[Jayne set the bottle down on the bedside table and started stripping, tossing his clothes without a care into the corner. Then he crossed to his dresser and pulled out a pair of shorts and a tank top. He put them on and then crossed back to the table. He finished the whiskey, placed the bottle back on the table and shut off the light.
Then he crawled into bed and fell asleep. His sleep will be marked by the heavy snoring.]
[This, of course, means that Daryl is tossed off with the shirt, landing in the corner. The sweaty fabric cushions his fall, however, and there's no lasting damage.
By the time he pulls himself from the shirt, however, Jayne's asleep. His snoring shaking the floor slightly with the vibrations. Still, Daryl approaches the slumbering beast, wondering how the hell to get up to him now.]
